Maestraudio’s new MAPro2000 wired in-ear monitor combines redesigned drivers with a supplied cable that lets you swap between 3.5mm and 4.4mm plugs. You can match the plug to a compatible audio player’s output without replacing the entire cable.

Red I want to try swapping that plug without changing the whole cable. But 4.4mm doesn’t get an automatic win from me just for being balanced.
Nea I’d bring a favorite game OST and listen to how the bass fades beneath the overlapping instruments. I’d want to settle the fit before getting lost in those layers.
How the fluid damper and passive tweeter work
The new 10mm dynamic driver uses a magnetic-fluid damper. The fluid sits in the magnetic-circuit gap where the voice coil moves, and its viscosity helps restrain unwanted residual vibration. Maestraudio says the design aims to make the start and stop of bass notes clearer and reduce muddiness across low and mid frequencies.
The accompanying 5.8mm RST, short for Reactive Sympathetic Tweeter, is passive. Its diaphragm vibrates in response to sound waves from the dynamic driver rather than receiving its own electrical drive.
The RST’s diaphragm now uses an overtone beryllium alloy, replacing the previous ceramic-coated OFC material. Maestraudio says it has adjusted the material and structure to pursue finer vibration response and the presentation of harmonics and space. These are the brand’s design goals, not listening results from this article.

Check both ends of the cable
At the earbuds, the cable connector changes from MMCX to Pentaconn ear, so existing MMCX replacement cables do not fit directly. Pentaconn ear connects the cable to the earbuds; it is a different connection from a player’s 4.4mm Pentaconn output.
At the player end, the supplied plugs provide 3.5mm unbalanced or 4.4mm balanced connections. Neither is USB-C, so a phone without a compatible analog output needs a suitable DAC adapter. Choosing balanced output does not automatically mean better sound.
Two ear-tip sets are included: new iKeep01 liquid silicone rubber tips in S/M/L and standard iSep02 silicone tips in S/MS/M/L. The design retains the series’ compact, lightweight housing concept, with a nozzle angle intended to follow the ear canal, but that does not guarantee a comfortable fit for every ear.
MAPro2000 launches in Japan on October 17, 2026, in Iris Blue and Shallow Clear, priced at 27,500 yen including tax. Before buying, check your device’s sockets and, if possible, try the fit while listening to familiar tracks. A new driver design alone is no reason to replace earbuds that already work well for you.
