Apple introduced HomeView on October 13, 2026, as a shared 7-inch display for music, calls and home controls. Up to six enrolled household members can get their own apps and widgets through face recognition, while a paired device is also required before private messages and calendars appear.

Snackgirls react
AIKO: I’m curious how it handles a familiar face whose paired device hasn’t been unlocked recently. Same person, different conditions for showing private content.
Nea: I’d like to use it as a shared family photo frame and still have a place for my own calendar. I would rather keep my messages out of the shared view.
A shared display with a personal side
The A18-powered HomeView comes in tabletop and separate wall-mounted versions, both with a 7-inch Liquid Retina display. The tabletop model has a tilting screen and domed speaker base. The interface adapts to viewing distance, showing simpler information across the room and more detail as someone approaches.
Setup and multiuser support require a compatible iPhone or iPad running the latest software. Each enrolled user gets a personal home screen with apps and widgets, while shared photo albums and music can be enjoyed by the household, including guests.
Messages and Calendar content appears only when the enrolled person’s face is recognized and their paired iPhone or iPad is present and has been recently unlocked. If the paired device is off Wi-Fi, Apple says access may continue when face recognition still succeeds and the device was recently on the same Wi-Fi network, has an active cellular connection, remains in the same location and has been recently unlocked.
Apple lists Siri AI as a beta in HomeView software 27.2. General-knowledge questions, natural conversation and music discovery do not require an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad, although setup still requires a compatible device. Personal-context requests and actions across apps need a paired Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad running the latest software, with Siri AI enabled and set to a supported language.

Nine live camera views do not mean nine recording cameras
Touch and Siri AI can control compatible HomeKit or Matter accessories, including lights, thermostats, locks and blinds, and display compatible camera feeds. Accessories are sold separately. The Home Camera face can show up to nine live feeds at once.
Video summaries and natural-language search of HomeKit Secure Video recordings require setup with a paired Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad and an eligible iCloud+ subscription. Supported recording-camera counts depend on the plan and can change, so the nine-feed display limit does not mean a subscription includes recording for nine cameras.
For everyday use, HomeView offers Apple Music and Podcasts, shared photos, step-by-step recipes and hands-free timers. Some content and services require subscriptions, availability varies by region, and select apps need a paired compatible iPhone nearby.
For calls, FaceTime’s Center Stage can keep people in frame as they move around the room. Calls require Wi-Fi and FaceTime-enabled devices for both the caller and recipient.

US$299 in the US, with a limited first rollout
The tabletop and wall-mounted models each cost US$299 in the United States. The wall-mounted version uses separately sold mounts.
Preorders opened on October 13 in Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, the UK and the US. Singapore preorders begin October 15 at 9 a.m. SGT. Both models become available in those markets on November 13, with South African availability beginning the same day through Apple Authorized Resellers.
Siri AI on HomeView initially supports English in the announced markets; Canadian French is planned for a later free software update. Apple has not announced release dates for South Korea or Japan. HomeView will not be sold in the EU at this stage because, according to Apple, Siri AI is currently unavailable in iOS there.
Certain Apple Intelligence features that use server-side models are subject to daily usage limits. Apple says expanded access to those features will be offered for a fee in the future.
