SNACK: 3-line summary
- The original English Cool Porygon promo can change Resistance and an existing opposing Weakness without changing Pokémon types.
- Each change ends for the affected Pokémon when that Pokémon is benched.
- 3-D Attack is separate, using three coin flips to determine its damage.
On the original English Cool Porygon promo, Texture Magic can change its own Resistance and the defending Pokémon’s existing Weakness. Neither Pokémon’s type changes. This is Wizards Black Star Promo number 15, a Colorless Basic Pokémon with 50 HP and an illustration credited to Hiromichi Sugiyama.

Kirari: “Cool Porygon” and “3-D Attack” on the same card? Those names make me want to look closer at the illustration.
Nea: The two changes ending independently is the detail that interests me. I’d want to watch what happens when one Pokémon goes to the Bench and the other stays.
Two optional changes, with Colorless excluded
Texture Magic lets you change Cool Porygon’s Resistance to a type of your choice other than Colorless. If the defending Pokémon already has a Weakness, you may change that Weakness to a type of your choice other than Colorless too. You can choose either change independently.
It cannot give a Weakness to a Pokémon that has none. It also leaves Cool Porygon’s own Weakness and the defending Pokémon’s Resistance alone.
Each Pokémon has its own Bench reset
Benching Cool Porygon ends its Resistance change. Benching the defending Pokémon ends that Pokémon’s Weakness change.
The reset belongs to the Pokémon being benched: moving one to the Bench does not automatically end both changes.
Three coins for 3-D Attack
The card’s other attack, 3-D Attack, asks you to flip three coins. Its printed 20× formula means 20 damage for each coin that lands heads, before any applicable Weakness or Resistance. Using Texture Magic does not automatically deal that damage.
