A demo for Kyoto Xanadu the Blooming Phantom is available, covering the prologue through the end of Chapter 1. You can take that progress into the full game, but there is an important catch on PS5: transferring demo data means you cannot earn trophies.

From side-scrolling exploration to 3D battles
Falcom estimates roughly five to six hours of play for the demo. Exploration takes place in 2D side-scrolling areas, with gates switching the action into 3D combat.
The setting is a fictional modern Japan where Kyoto is the capital. School life also feeds into progression: class action cards develop character stats and relationships.
Snackgirls react
Red: I want to feel that 2D-to-3D switch with a controller in my hands. How quickly would I find my fighting rhythm after crossing a gate?
Nea: I’d linger over the school cards and see which relationships draw me in. I’m also curious about everyday life in this version of Japan, with Kyoto as its capital.
Before you bring your save into the full game
The full game must be updated to the latest version before loading demo data. The PS5 restriction is worth keeping in mind before importing: carrying over that save means trophies cannot be earned.
On PS5 and Steam, load the demo save through the title menu’s continue option. Nintendo Switch has a separate option for loading demo records. PS5 players must use the same PlayStation Network account used for the demo, while Nintendo Switch players need the same Nintendo Account.
Where to download—and what Steam supports
The Japanese download guide lists the Nintendo Switch demo on Nintendo eShop and the PS5 demo on PlayStation Store. PC players can also download the demo using Steam’s Download Demo button.
The current Steam listing supports Japanese, Chinese and Korean interface text and subtitles, but not English.
