Anno 117 is free to try on Xbox—no Game Pass needed

Anno 117: Pax Romana is free to try on Xbox consoles without a Game Pass subscription during the current Free Play Days event. Xbox Wire lists eight games for November 5–8, but subscription requirements and play limits differ across the lineup.

Anno 117 and Crime Boss need only an Xbox account

Anno 117: Pax Romana and Crime Boss: Rockay City are the two games open to all Xbox account holders during the event. You do not need Game Pass Ultimate, Premium or Essential to access these trials.

This is temporary access on Xbox consoles, not a free copy to keep or a grant of access on PC or PlayStation 5. If you buy Anno 117, progress made during its trial carries over.

Five subscriber games, plus a two-hour IXION trial

PAYDAY 3, Nowhere Prophet, BALL x PIT, Deceive Inc. and Age of Wonders 4 require Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium or Essential. PC Game Pass alone does not meet that requirement.

IXION requires one of those same subscriptions, but its trial is capped at two hours during the November 5–8 event. It is not available for unrestricted play throughout the weekend.

To find the trials, sign in on the game’s Microsoft Store page or open Subscriptions > Free Play Days in the Xbox Store. Check your local listing for availability and supported hardware: games can vary by region and console, and PAYDAY 3 is listed for Xbox Series X|S.
