Snackgirls react

AIKO — Analog and digital sensors checking the battery every 250 milliseconds is my kind of nervous habit. Cutting the power when limits are crossed makes it a useful one.

Nea — The 8.8mm 5K would be easier to picture in a pocket, but the 10K’s display and 60W output make choosing between them less obvious.

Belkin’s new UltraCharge Pro line uses BoostSolid Cell, a semi-solid-state design that the company says adds a gel-like layer alongside liquid electrolyte to enable slimmer, more compact batteries. The range splits between an 8.8mm magnetic 5K model and a display-equipped 10K model with up to 60W USB-C Power Delivery.

A different cell design with company-stated safeguards

Belkin says BoostSolid Cell is engineered to last up to three times longer than other power banks, defined as retaining up to 80% capacity after 1,000 charge cycles. Its five-year estimate assumes one full charge and discharge every two days, and actual performance may vary.

The company also says the architecture helps reduce the risk of thermal runaway, fire and swelling while supporting stable charging from 0 to 40°C. Analog and digital temperature sensors monitor the battery every 250 milliseconds and interrupt power automatically if operating limits are exceeded. Belkin says both products are designed to meet UL2056:2025 requirements and TSA carry-on guidance; these are company claims, not independent test findings or a promise of acceptance by every airline.

The magnetic 5K keeps its body to 8.8mm

The BPD024 model has a 5,000mAh capacity and Qi2-certified magnetic wireless charging at up to 15W. Its single USB-C port provides 22.5W with SFC or up to 20W with Power Delivery.

The 10K adds 60W output and an at-a-glance display

The BPB044 doubles capacity to 10,000mAh and supplies up to 60W USB-C Power Delivery from one port, or up to 27W shared across its USB-C connections. It supports 40W USB-C input, includes a USB-A port rated for up to 22.5W and shows battery, output and thermal information on its smart display.

In the US, the 5K costs $69.99 and the 10K costs $89.99. Belkin says both are available to order from belkin.com and will reach Amazon on September 8. The US announcement offers black and sand finishes but provides no Korean or Japanese launch dates or local prices.
