The BrickLink Designer Program is preparing to accept 2028 Wave 1 submissions from LEGO fan designers. The two-week window begins September 14 and closes September 28 at noon Pacific US time, so builders nearing the finish line have a firm upload deadline.
The submission window
BrickLink lists open submission from September 14 through September 28, 2026. At the September 14 scout time, the official page was still showing a countdown rather than an active submission button.
What a model needs before upload
Eligible digital models must contain between 400 and 4,000 pieces and use the current 2028 Wave 1 palette. Third-party intellectual property is not allowed, and the restrictions also cover listed LEGO themes and formats including NINJAGO, DREAMZzz, Friends, Monkie Kid, BrickHeadz, and the ICONS Modular format.
What follows the submission period
BrickLink currently schedules Crowd Support for September 30–October 14 and review for October 14–November 20, with five designs listed for announcement on November 12. Selected finalists must wait one year before submitting again; the official example places a 2028 Wave 1 finalist’s next eligible round at 2029 Wave 1. Crowdfunding for selected designs is planned for October 2027, followed by production and shipping in March 2028.
