Red: A double jump, dodge and guard on every class? I want to see how quickly a party turns those shared moves into risky shortcuts.

AIKO: Measuring Mythic+ eligibility within each specialization makes the comparison more precise. The denominator has finally been assigned a class.

World of Warcraft: Midnight is stepping into action-RPG territory with Talebound, a new PvE mode for solo players and groups. Every class gains a double jump, dodge and guard, giving the mode a shared set of active defensive moves from the first encounter.

Three classes and four tales begin in Quillgrave

Talebound offers the Slayer, Inquisitor and Witch classes alongside four launch tales: Darkhaven, Greenthistle Wood, Greywake’s Expedition and Grove of the Night Court. Between attempts, the Arcanist, Scribe, Outfitter and Antiquarian in Quillgrave improve future runs. The rewards also send cosmetic items back to the player’s Midnight account.

Blizzard plans an early PTR preview sometime in October. Talebound will arrive with the Echoes of the Worldcore content update, although a final live date has not been announced.

Eclipse leads to the Worldcore

Update 12.1.5 is currently on the PTR with The Promise of Tomorrow campaign, The Unbinding of Kith’ix single-boss raid, Labyrinths, Aqir Invasion and refreshed Ascendant Venomstones. Beyond it, Eclipse will serve as Midnight’s final major content update.

Eclipse adds the Mantle Vault and its Thraegar allies, the Deepskar Empire world group, The Gearhold lair and the three-boss Thraegar’s Stand dungeon. Its eight-boss Worldcore raid ends with Xal’atath and is tied to Midnight’s Edge, a Legendary caster dagger whose acquisition requires more than simply completing the raid.

Mythic+ rewards will compare specializations separately

Season 3 begins shortly after Eclipse and introduces a top-five-percent Mythic+ reward tier. Eligibility for both the top-one-percent and top-five-percent tiers will be measured within each specialization instead of across the entire Mythic+ population.

Blizzard also plans to remove armor-type restrictions from transmog in update 12.2.5 and has announced Wrath of the Lich King Remix. Dates for those two additions have not been listed.
