Gears of War: E-Day is out worldwide—three days with Marcus and Dom

Gears of War: E-Day has reached its full worldwide launch, following premium early access. Alongside the official launch trailer, Xbox Wire introduces an origin-story campaign following Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago through three days and nights in Kalona at the start of the Locust invasion.

Stay in cover when enemies close in

Xbox Wire’s October 6 launch guide recommends moving between cover and using blind fire when nearby enemies make exposing yourself risky. That gives you a way to keep firing without stepping out into danger.

Its weapon advice is situational: choose what suits the encounter and switch loadouts at caches. Those caches are an opportunity to change your setup as you go.

Side missions offer a reason to look around

Optional side missions let you help squads and civilians, and they often reward weapon mods. They give you something useful to pursue alongside the main campaign.

Listen for an audio chime, too. It signals nearby collectibles with lore entries—a reason to pause and explore the story’s details.

Playing on Xbox and PC

Xbox Wire lists Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Game Pass and Steam for the worldwide release.

For eligible Xbox purchases, Xbox Play Anywhere lets you play on console and PC at no additional cost. If you choose Steam, do not assume that purchase also includes an Xbox copy.
