SNACK: 3-line summary
- Warframe’s Epoch Operation: Taubound begins October 15, 2026, with a community effort to fuel a future journey to Tau.
- Fight the Infested and collect Moonflesh to power Praghasa and exchange for rewards before the operation ends November 17.
- The permanent Prologue to Tau quest introduces the first playable Lotus and requires completing both The Hex and The Old Peace.
Warframe will let players take control of the Lotus for the first time in Prologue to Tau, a permanent single-player cinematic quest. Separately, Epoch Operation: Taubound begins October 15, 2026, giving the community a limited window to gather fuel for a future journey to Tau.

Gathering Moonflesh for Praghasa
Taubound’s missions take place on Eris in the Origin System, where players destroy the Infested and collect a new resource, Moonflesh. The community effort will help power the Sentient mothership Praghasa for the journey ahead; it is preparation for a future trip to Tau, not the trip itself.
Moonflesh can also be exchanged for rewards, including new armor sets, event Honoria, Somachords and cosmetics such as Floofs and Syandanas. The operation concludes November 17, 2026.
Snackgirls react
Red: I want to get my hands on the Lotus’s controls. I’m curious how she’ll feel to play.
Nea: I’m curious about where the Vessel fits into the journey to Tau. I’d like to take my time with the prologue and linger over the story details.
The Lotus quest stays after Taubound ends
Prologue to Tau is a permanent addition to the Quest Codex, so its story will remain available after the operation finishes. Along with the Lotus’s playable debut, the quest includes using a TennoCon-customized Vessel on Eris and facing an Infested boss.
Access to these permanent additions requires completing both The Hex and The Old Peace. If playing as the Lotus is what brings you back, those are the two quests to finish first.
