Apple announced the fourth-generation Apple TV 4K on October 13, 2026, adding three far-field microphones for talking to Siri without holding the remote. Echo cancellation is designed to pick out speech during playback, while Siri AI adds conversational searches for something to watch.

Snackgirls react
AIKO: I’d try a quiet request during a loud scene. Separating the person talking from the TV’s own soundtrack is the bit of engineering I want to see in action.
Nea: I’d enjoy asking where a scene was filmed while it’s still on screen. Then I’d probably spend the evening reading about that location and its history.
Ask about a show while it’s still playing
Siri AI brings full-screen results to show searches and a compact overlay for follow-up questions while watching. Apple’s examples include asking where a series was filmed or whether it is suitable for a 15-year-old, without having a full-screen answer take over the picture.
The Siri AI beta runs in tvOS 27.2 on Apple TV 4K models from the second generation onward, so it is not exclusive to the new hardware. At launch, it supports English in the U.S., Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa and the UK. Apple gives no rollout date for Korean- or Japanese-language Siri AI in this announcement.
The person listed as the home’s owner in the Home app needs an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad running the latest software, with Siri AI enabled in a supported language. Personal-context requests, such as playing a show a friend recommended, also require a paired Apple Intelligence-enabled device with those Siri AI settings. Some server-based AI features have daily usage limits, and Apple says expanded access will carry a fee in the future.

A19 powers the new box
Apple says the A19 chip delivers up to 50 percent faster CPU performance and up to twice the GPU performance of the previous generation. It also includes a dedicated AV1 decoder for more efficient streaming.
Optional four-speaker surround requires the fourth-generation Apple TV 4K running the latest software, plus four HomePod (2nd generation) or HomePod mini 2 speakers. The front pair must match and the rear pair must match, but the pairs can differ—for example, two HomePod (2nd generation) speakers in front and two HomePod mini 2 speakers behind. The speakers are sold separately.

November 13 arrival, with language limits to check
Preorders opened on October 13 in the U.S. and 29 other countries and regions, with in-store availability beginning November 13, 2026. The U.S. price is $299. The announcement does not give Korean or Japanese retail prices or confirm hardware availability in either market.
Hands-free Siri microphone support has its own language requirements, separate from the Siri AI beta. Availability varies by region, and the primary tvOS language must be set to Mandarin Chinese, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Hebrew, Norwegian or Swedish. Korean and Japanese are not on that initial microphone-support list.
