- Google has begun rolling out Universal Cart in the U.S. across Google Search and the Gemini app.
- The cart offers price-drop and restock alerts, along with card-benefit suggestions and relevant promo codes.
- Shoppers can pay with Google Pay at supported stores or finish on the retailer’s site; the retailer remains the seller and handles order confirmations and support.
Google began rolling out Universal Cart in the U.S. on October 15, 2026. Shoppers can save finds such as a bag or sweater from different retailers in Google Search and the Gemini app, then return to the same cart later.

Snackgirls react
AIKO: One shared list, separate sellers. I like the separation: tidy up the shopping interface without pretending every order belongs to the same store.
Kirari: I’d save the bag and sweater together while planning an outfit. I want their pictures side by side, not lost somewhere in my screenshots!
A bag in Search, a sweater in Gemini
A handbag saved in AI Mode in Search can sit alongside a sweater saved later in the Gemini app. Google’s example brings together items from Steve Madden, Quince and Ulta Beauty, keeping the list available across those Google experiences instead of leaving shoppers to track separate tabs and screenshots.
The rollout is limited to the U.S. Google has not announced launch dates for South Korea or Japan.
Keep an eye on the items—and the card perks
Universal Cart can send notifications when a saved item drops in price or comes back in stock, helping shoppers follow changes without repeatedly reopening each product listing.
Built on Google Wallet, the cart can also suggest payment methods based on card benefits and show relevant promo codes. For someone juggling several cards, that puts the available perks beside the items they are considering.

Choose where to pay; the store stays responsible
At supported stores, shoppers can check out inside the cart with Google Pay or transfer items to the retailer’s cart and finish on its website. Google names Nike, Sephora, Target, Ulta Beauty, Walmart, Wayfair and many Shopify merchants as examples.
Whichever route shoppers choose, the retailer remains the seller of record, sends the order confirmation and provides customer support. Bringing products into one cart does not promise a single combined payment or shipment across stores.
