- The new rates apply to units arriving at Nintendo on or after November 16, 2026.
Nintendo is raising the tax-inclusive reference price for Nintendo Switch 2 CPU-board repairs in Japan from ¥27,500 to ¥37,400. The company cites higher repair-parts costs.

Arrival at Nintendo determines which rate applies
The revised prices apply to units arriving at Nintendo on or after November 16, 2026. Units arriving through November 15 remain under the existing rates. Submitting a repair request or sending a parcel before the changeover does not by itself secure the old price.
Snackgirls react
Red: I want to keep my current Switch 2 going for years. A repair bill is a much less exciting way to spend my gaming budget.
Nea: If mine needed repairs near the changeover, I’d probably check the delivery tracking a little too often. I’d want to know which part needed fixing before worrying about the CPU-board price, though.
The CPU-board price is not a flat repair fee
These are reference prices, not guaranteed quotes for every fault. Other main-unit repair categories, including LCD, USB and battery repairs, also have increases, so the relevant price depends on the repair needed.
The page lists no revised prices for the dock, Joy-Con 2, Pro Controller or camera. This announcement concerns repair charges in Japan—not the console’s retail price or repair rates worldwide.
