SNACK: 3-line summary
- ReVamp’s first playtest is changing from a public Steam test to a controlled Discord test.
- Players need the official Discord’s Playtesting role to be considered, with access granted in waves rather than guaranteed.
- Testing still starts October 29; a public test is hoped for around January 2027, but that window is not confirmed.
ReVamp’s first playtest will still begin on October 29, but it will no longer be the public Steam test originally planned. Digital Sun is moving to a controlled test organized through its official Discord, so an earlier Steam access request does not guarantee an invitation.

How to get a chance at the October test
Players who want to take part need to join Digital Sun’s official Discord and take the Playtesting role. Access will be granted in waves, so joining does not mean immediate or guaranteed entry.
The studio thanked players who had already requested access on Steam and apologized for changing the plan.
Snackgirls react
Red: I want a spot in that first group. I’d put my name in, then try not to check for an invitation every five minutes.
Nea: I’d like time to experiment with the castle and tower-defense elements. Finding a setup I like sounds like something I could quietly lose an evening to.
Why Digital Sun is holding back the public build
In its October 19 Steam announcement, the developer behind Moonlighter and Cataclismo cited recent reports of reverse engineering and clones being released before the original games. Digital Sun expressed concern about sharing a build with tens of thousands of players months before launch.
The studio hopes to open ReVamp’s public playtest around January 2027, though that is not a confirmed date. The full release remains scheduled for March 25, 2027.
