Red I’m curious where Skullcandy takes its gaming gear next. I hope the designs keep that bold, unmistakable look.
Nea With Sound by Bose already in use, I’m curious what the next model will do differently. I’d like to hear the engineers explain a concrete technical change.
Skullcandy keeps its identity and Park City base
Skullcandy will become part of Bose’s Premium Consumer Audio business and remain based in Park City, Utah. Bose says the brand will have room to keep evolving in ways that fit its identity and customers.
Skullcandy’s connections with boardsports, music, gaming and fitness communities are part of the appeal for Bose. The company sees those relationships as a way to reach audiences where its own presence has been smaller.

Sound by Bose was already part of the relationship
The companies’ multiyear partnership has already brought Sound by Bose technology to Skullcandy earbuds and headphones. The existing Method 360 ANC earbuds are one example, listed with Sound by Bose on Skullcandy’s website.
Bose now plans to support Skullcandy’s growth with greater access to technology, resources, global distribution and commercial relationships. These are the company’s investment plans, with specific product developments still to be announced.
What this means for your next pair
The acquisition announcement introduces no new device or firmware update. Ownership changing does not automatically give existing Skullcandy headphones new functions. If you are choosing a pair, look at that model’s specifications and product announcements for the features it actually offers.
