MOONDROP Position carries your EQ between devices

SNACK: 3-line summary

  • MOONDROP Position wired gaming earphones are scheduled to launch in Japan on October 26.
  • The included USB-C sound card carries your saved EQ between compatible devices; a 3.5mm plug offers an analog alternative.
  • iOS can use EQ settings saved through another supported device, but cannot write them itself.

MOONDROP has announced Position for release in Japan, with a choice of USB-C or 3.5mm wired connections. Its included USB-C sound card stores your EQ, keeping those settings when you move the same card to another compatible device.

Snackgirls react

Red I want to compare a game preset with my own EQ in an FPS I know well. Which one would I end up sticking with?

Nea I’d like to finish a game session and put on its soundtrack with the same card and my own saved EQ. That sounds like a pleasant way to wind down.

Two connection paths, with processing on the USB side

The included USB-C sound card doubles as a DAC adapter with 24-bit audio support. Unlike a USB-only headset, Position also lets you plug its cable’s 3.5mm four-pole connector directly into a compatible jack. That analog route bypasses the card’s DSP and microphone processing.

The earphones use 10mm dynamic drivers with aluminum-magnesium composite diaphragms. The cable detaches at 0.78mm two-pin connectors, and the acoustic filters at the nozzles are replaceable.

Saved EQ travels with the card

On supported devices, the web console or smartphone app lets you adjust EQ frequency, gain and Q, then save the settings to the card’s digital signal processor (DSP). No dedicated PC driver needs to keep running afterward. iOS cannot write EQ settings, but it can use settings saved to the card through a supported setup on another device.

MOONDROP says the card’s neural processing unit (NPU) applies AI noise reduction and voice enhancement to microphone audio for voice chat. This processing does not provide active noise cancellation for the listener.

Check your setup before the Japan launch

Position is scheduled to launch in Japan on October 26, 2026, in silver and black, at ¥5,940 including tax. Before choosing it, check that your intended device supports the connection you plan to use and that you have a supported way to edit EQ.
