Red Keeping my phone connected while I play? I’d like to try that—especially without having to swap headsets.
Nea I’d be curious to hear how the planar drivers render quiet footsteps and the little details tucked into a game’s soundtrack.
PlayStation Link for games, Bluetooth for your phone
PlayStation Link provides lossless, ultra-low-latency audio on supported devices, including PS5, PlayStation Portal, PC and Mac. A USB Type-C PlayStation Link adapter is included. PULSE can connect to a compatible Bluetooth device simultaneously, so you can keep your phone connection alongside game audio; the lossless and latency specifications apply to Link, not Bluetooth.

Microphone noise reduction is not listener ANC
The built-in microphone uses AI noise rejection to reduce background noise in the voice sent to other players. PULSE does not have active noise cancellation for the listener. That feature, along with a detachable boom microphone, is included in PULSE Edge, which is expected in early 2027.
PULSE also uses custom planar magnetic drivers. SIE says they help make individual sounds and their direction easier to distinguish, including details such as footsteps and reload sounds.
The PC package arrives later
The November 19 release comes in White and Midnight Black, priced at JPY 15,980 including tax. A Midnight Black for PC version with a different packaging design follows on December 3 through retailer PC departments and online PC categories. Preorders for that package will roll out from October 29, but no start time is specified.
The standard PULSE already supports PC through PlayStation Link, so PC users do not need the later package to get that compatibility.
