Snackgirls react
Kirari: I’d want one photo with the whole flower wave in frame, then a close-up where you can see how the flowers are built.
Nea: I’d like to build a flower with a slightly unusual shape and see how it appears in the shared digital landscape. Would the details I chose still stand out?
Roses, sunflowers and tulips, built by hand
LEGO says the installation uses more than 380,000 Botanicals pieces across 800 square metres. It took over 1,200 hours to build by hand, bringing together roses, sunflowers, tulips and other brick-built plants.
The flowers take other forms elsewhere in the exhibition. Eighteen original artworks, co-created by artists and adult LEGO fans, reinterpret Botanicals using materials including metal, textiles and mirrors.
Build a creation that joins the digital landscape
Visitors can also make something themselves. Their creations can be scanned into a shared digital flower landscape, becoming part of a display that evolves as visitors add their designs.
