Two big cylindrical missile pods on a sturdy pair of legs give the Phalanx its distinctive outline. WAVE’s 1/100 SDR-04-MkXII Phalanx (MC-087), from Super Dimension Fortress Macross, is scheduled to ship from the manufacturer today, October 29, 2026.

Snackgirls react
Kirari: I’d photograph it from a low three-quarter angle and let those round pods fill the frame. That silhouette is what catches my eye.
Red: I want to assemble the polycap joints and try a few stances. I’m curious how much attitude I can get out of those chunky legs.
Snap-fit construction and joints for posing
The Phalanx is a Destroid tasked with defending the Macross ship. It joins WAVE’s 1/100 Destroid range as the third entry after the Tomahawk and Defender, and can be displayed alongside the company’s VF-1 kits in the same scale.
The plastic model snaps together without glue, uses polycaps at its joints for articulation and includes marking decals. WAVE describes it as condensing the proportions and detail of its 1/72 version into the smaller 1/100 scale.

Shipping today; store arrival follows
The Japanese price is ¥5,280 including tax. WAVE’s October 29 date is for manufacturer shipment: its guidance puts store arrival generally one to two days later, rather than guaranteeing that every retailer will have stock today.
The official photographs show assembled and painted examples, not an unpainted, straight-from-the-box finish. Glue-free assembly should not be taken to mean that the pictured colors and finish require no painting. WAVE also notes that details of the actual product may differ from the photographs.
