Snackgirls react

Red: The press-fit build makes me want to sit down and assemble it in one go. I’m curious how cleanly those discreet seams come together.

Kirari: The dinosaur silhouette and scale-comparison pieces could create a striking little scene. I’d want to photograph it against the paper backdrop.

Tamiya is bringing the Fukui dinosaur Fukuisaurus to its Click Lock series. Listed as item 28502, the 1/35 scale kit is scheduled for release around October 10, 2026, at a tax-included price of ¥880.

A streamlined press-fit build

The model assembles by pressing the parts together, so no cement is required. It is molded in light green and uses a small number of parts designed to keep seams discreet. The finished Fukuisaurus measures approximately 134 mm long.

A display with a sense of scale

The kit includes a ground display part and parent-and-child silhouette pieces that show the dinosaur’s scale. A paper scenery sheet and a leaflet about Fukuisaurus and other Fukui dinosaurs add context beyond the build itself.

Based on a dinosaur discovered in Fukui

Fukuisaurus was an herbivorous dinosaur that lived about 120 million years ago. Its fossils were found in Katsuyama, Fukui, and it received the scientific name Fukuisaurus tetoriensis in 2003. The model was developed with cooperation from the Dinosaur Research Institute, sculpt assistance by Kazunari Araki, and supervision by Takuya Imai.
