53 Pokémon Sculptures Turn Discarded Materials into Art in Yaesu

Discarded objects take on familiar Pokémon forms at Think with Pokémon: Art and Environment Education in Yaesu. The free exhibition brings 53 upcycled sculptures to Tokyo Midtown Yaesu from September 18 to 27, offering a playful way to look more closely at materials that would otherwise be thrown away.

Fifty-three Pokémon built from unwanted objects

Tama Art University Product Design studio3 students created the POKÉMON UPCYCLE SCULPTURE works from unwanted objects, scrap and other everyday discarded materials. The Yaesu exhibition presents 53 Pokémon selected from works shown through the project’s annually developed exhibition series.

Fishing nets and buoys carry Saga’s shoreline into the gallery

Some sculptures use marine plastic waste that washed ashore in Saga Prefecture, including fishing nets and buoys. Information about that initiative will also be displayed. Visitors are invited to identify the original materials and see how each maker transformed them, using recognizable Pokémon as an entry point to environmental issues.

Ten days of free admission at Tokyo Midtown Yaesu

The exhibition runs September 18–27, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the first-floor Atrium of Tokyo Midtown Yaesu, 2-2-1 Yaesu, Chuo-ku, Tokyo. Admission is free.

The event is organized by Tama Art University through TUB and its Product Design department together with the Yaesu 2-chome North District Area Management association, with cooperation from the Pokémon With You Foundation.
