Snackgirls react

Nea: I want to follow the Golden Apple trail again and see how the more dimensional exploration changes the feel of the mystery.

Kirari: The 3D characters caught my eye, but I’m especially curious about the animated scenes filling a widescreen display in HD.

Professor Layton and the Curious Village Remake is giving the series’ first mystery more than a simple rerelease. Announced by LEVEL5 at LEVEL5 VISION 2026 II on September 10, the new version rebuilds the characters in 3D, makes exploration richer and more dimensional, and upgrades its animated scenes for HD widescreen presentation.

The Golden Apple mystery begins again

The story follows Professor Layton and Luke as they investigate the inheritance left by a wealthy man after his death. Their case sends them through the town on a search for the Golden Apple, bringing the original adventure’s central mystery into newly dimensional surroundings.

A multiplatform return in 2027

The remake is planned for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Steam in 2027. The official language list covers Japanese, US and UK English, Traditional and Simplified Chinese, French, Italian, German, Spanish, and Korean. LEVEL5 has not announced a specific release date or price.
