Red: A flame-wreathed Elder Dragon is enough to make me reach for a weapon. I want to see how close I can stay when Teostra turns the area into a furnace.
Nea: The quieter changes have my attention too. Faster weapon swaps without calling a Seikret could make experimenting with different hunt rhythms much more inviting.

Capcom’s Tokyo Game Show 2026 extended cut of the first Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance trailer confirms that Teostra will be huntable. The Elder Dragon reveal arrives alongside several convenience changes, including refinements that will also benefit the existing base game.
A flame-wreathed Elder Dragon joins the roster
Capcom describes Teostra as an Elder Dragon wreathed in flames, with breath that brings fiery calamity and a fierce temperament capable of reducing nearby hunters to ash. Its confirmed appearance gives the 2027 expansion a formidable new hunt.
Faster swaps and fewer trips to the tent
The Boost Bracer is a new element designed to enhance the action and make hunts more exhilarating. Players will also be able to swap weapons faster without using a Seikret and change equipment outside tents through the Item Box. These convenience refinements will also come to the Monster Hunter Wilds base game.
The expansion and Switch 2 dates are separate
Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance is planned for 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC, with its exact release date and price still unannounced. Separately, the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the base game remains scheduled for December 4, 2026.
