A big driver that needs a separate amplifier
The BR05 is a passive hi-fi speaker: it needs a separate amplifier to drive it, rather than working as a self-contained Bluetooth speaker. It supports bi-wiring, but neither bi-wiring nor two amplifiers are required.
The 21cm driver uses a natural-cellulose-pulp cone to handle bass and midrange frequencies. A 25mm silk-dome tweeter with a phase plug handles the treble, while the cabinet is made from internally braced, high-density MDF.
The eight-degree lean carries over to the optional stands
The included base provides the backward tilt without an extra stand purchase. For a taller setup, Triangle offers optional S03 stands that maintain the same eight-degree angle; these are sold separately.
Two bass-reflex ports face forward. Triangle says this makes the BR05 less sensitive to its distance from the rear wall, but that claim is not a guarantee of good results with the cabinet pressed against a wall.
Five finishes and a reported $999 US price
What Hi-Fi? reports that the BR05 is available to order and lists its US price as $999. The five finishes are Light Oak, Black Ash, Chestnut, Green and Frosted White.
