AKG K240 MKII bundle adds a USB-C adapter for listening while charging

SNACK: 3-line summary

  • Hibino has announced two AKG K240 headphone accessory bundles, launching in Japan on October 29.
  • The MKII set adds a USB-C adapter for listening while charging; the STUDIO set adds genuine AKG velour earpads.
  • Both are exclusive to Japan’s Amazon AKG Pro official store, with the MKII set announced as quantity-limited.

The AKG K240 MKII-Y3 USB-C SE adds an adapter that lets you listen through the wired headphones while charging your device. It launches in Japan on October 29, 2026 alongside the K240 STUDIO-Y3 VELOUR SE, a bundle with additional genuine AKG velour earpads. Both packages build on existing K240 headphones.

Red If I were settling in for a long album, I’d want that charging port ready. I don’t want to unplug the headphones just because the battery’s running low.

Nea I’d like to play a favorite album with each set of pads and take my time with the fit. I’m curious which material I’d prefer by the last track.

A charging port beside the headphone socket

The MKII bundle’s AKG-logo adapter connects to the USB-C port on a smartphone, tablet or laptop. It provides a 3.5mm headphone output and a separate USB-C power input, allowing the connected device to charge while you listen.

The headphones remain wired: their cable plugs into the adapter’s headphone socket. The MKII also retains its standard cable options, a 3m straight cable and a 5m coiled cable.

STUDIO gains a choice of earpad materials

The K240 STUDIO-Y3 VELOUR SE includes genuine AKG velour earpads alongside the standard leatherette pair. You can swap between the two materials according to your preferred feel and fit.

The MKII already includes both leatherette and velour pads as standard, so its added accessory is the USB-C adapter. That adapter is not included in the STUDIO bundle.

Two bundles for Japan’s Amazon store

Both sets go on sale October 29 exclusively through Japan’s Amazon AKG Pro official store. The MKII USB-C set is quantity-limited.

Both headphones use a semi-open design, making a quiet room a more practical setting than a noisy commute where isolation matters. Start with the device you want to connect: the MKII bundle supplies the USB-C listening-and-charging option, while the STUDIO bundle adds a second pad material to try.
