Snackgirls react
AIKO: My first test would be switching between screen taps and keyboard shortcuts. I may need a counter for how often my hand leaves the keys.
Nea: I’d like to pinch-zoom through game concept art on that OLED screen. I might linger over the costumes, looking for little clues about the setting.
Drag slides and arrange windows by touch
You can drag slides between presentations, double-tap a window to fill the screen, or flick it into a tiled position. Keyboard shortcuts and trackpad gestures remain available, so you can combine familiar controls with direct screen input.
The touch sensor is built directly into the display panel. For many existing apps, macOS automatically translates touches into clicks, allowing them to respond immediately. Dedicated touch integrations for apps including Adobe Lightroom, DaVinci Resolve and Blender are scheduled for later in 2026.

Two OLED layers and a lighter design
PROLED XDR uses two self-emitting pixel layers. Apple specifies up to 2,000 nits of peak brightness for both HDR and SDR, adaptive ProMotion refresh rates from 10Hz to 120Hz, and support for both P3 and Adobe RGB color spaces.
M5 Pro and M5 Max power the new range, with configurations reaching up to 128GB of unified memory and 16TB of storage. Apple lists weights of 3 pounds for the 14-inch model and 4 pounds for the 16-inch model; weight varies by configuration and manufacturing process.

U.S. preorders are open
U.S. starting prices are $2,899 for the 14-inch M5 Pro model and $3,399 for the 16-inch M5 Pro model. M5 Max models start at $4,499 for the 14-inch version and $4,799 for the 16-inch version.
Preorders opened October 28 through Apple’s online store and Apple Store app. Deliveries and availability at Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Resellers begin November 6.
