What the horn and spiral are meant to do
DXB stands for Divergent eXpanded Bore. The passage widens toward the sound outlet, while spiral-shaped guides line its interior. Nostalgia Audio says this arrangement is intended to guide sound through the tip, while a thick central core is designed to reduce unwanted vibration and resonance.
Dome dimensions, not nozzle measurements
The outer dome becomes thinner toward its edge and uses what Nostalgia Audio describes as medical-grade silicone. Its outer diameter is 11.2 mm for S, 12.4 mm for M and 13.3 mm for L; all three sizes are 8.5 mm tall. These diameters describe the outer dome, not the mounting hole that fits over an earphone’s nozzle.
Three pairs of one size—not a mixed pack
The Japanese price is JPY 4,680 including tax for three pairs in one selected size. S, M and L are sold separately, so a pack does not contain one pair of each.
The range is sold through e-earphone’s Japanese stores and online store. Before buying, choose a size that fits your ears and check that the tips fit your own earphones’ nozzles.
