Victor HA-NP1T2 targets sound leakage while keeping your ears open

SNACK: 3-line summary

  • Victor has announced the nearphones HA-NP1T2, its second-generation open-ear ear-cuff earbuds.
  • A new mode targets sound leakage, while a wider-opening, slimmer arch is designed to improve fitting.
  • Due in Japan in mid-November 2026, the earbuds offer a claimed maximum of 22 hours with case charges, depending on use.

JVCKENWOOD announced Victor’s nearphones HA-NP1T2 on November 5, updating the ear-cuff earbuds with a sound-leakage reduction mode and a redesigned fit. The successor to the HA-NP1T released in November 2024 still leaves the ear canal open, with changes intended to make listening around others and putting the earbuds on more comfortable.

Red I want to see how that flexible arch opens. Clipping them on and off without putting anything in my ear is the part I’d try first.

Nea I’d love to have a game soundtrack on while sharing a room. I’m curious what volume would feel considerate with the leakage-reduction mode enabled.

How the leakage-reduction mode works

According to Victor, the new mode suppresses frequency bands that are prone to leaking sound to people nearby. The company has also revised the internal structure, adding a mechanism intended to limit sound escaping from the earbuds.

This is not active noise cancellation (ANC) and does not block outside sound. Reducing leakage also does not guarantee that people nearby will be unable to hear your music.

A wider-opening arch and five matte colors

The revised Flexible Adjust mechanism opens wider for putting the earbuds on and taking them off. Its slimmer inner arch is designed to avoid sensitive areas of the ear and allow a deeper fit; Victor says these changes improve comfort and help the earbuds stay in place.

The new matte finish comes in Twilight Blue, Rose Pink, Leaf Green, Soft Ivory and Ash Black. Sound updates include a 10 mm neodymium driver and new multiband DRC, or dynamic range control, which adjusts frequency bands independently. Victor says revised driver positioning and angle, together with the processing changes, improve sound quality and output.

Up to 22 hours, plus phone-and-PC multipoint

Victor rates the earbuds for up to nine hours of playback on their own, with another 13 hours from the charging case for a maximum of 22 hours in total. A 10-minute quick charge provides about 70 minutes of playback; these battery figures vary with usage conditions.

Two-device multipoint supports simultaneous connections to devices such as a phone and a PC, while a low-latency mode is designed to reduce audio-video delay in games and videos. IPX4 splash resistance applies to the earbuds only, not the charging case, and does not cover submersion.
